La Unió Consorci Formació has opened registration for the virtual course ‘Basic concepts of artificial intelligence: applications in health and in the field of medicines’, aimed at medical, nursing and pharmacy professionals, as well as other accredited health professions (LOPS). The training initiative, launched by the Catalan Health Department and the TIC Salut i Social Foundation, forms part of the Health/AI Programme and the Virtual Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Medicines of Catalonia (CIAM).
The course aims to offer a global, critical and well-informed overview of artificial intelligence and its transformative role in Catalonia’s healthcare system, fostering a basic yet robust understanding of its potential and limitations. The objective is to ensure the appropriate, responsible, ethical and safe use of artificial intelligence in the field of health and medicines, with special emphasis on the importance of human oversight and clinical judgement.
Among the different content modules, participants will learn about applications of artificial intelligence in health and medicines, such as tools supporting the medicine life cycle, imaging-based diagnostics, clinical decision-support systems, and solutions oriented towards public health and preventive medicine.
The training course lasts 15 hours, is free of charge, and participants who meet the assessment requirements will receive a certificate of completion issued by La Unió Consorci Formació.
Registration is open at this link until 8 December, or until all available places are filled.
